SI PE kicked the new Presidential year off with a Sleepover Pyjama Party as a team building exercise. With much hilarity we bonded over games of our childhood, musical chairs, pass the parcel, etc. We recommend something so simple to form that bond to work as one.
SI PE had such fun walking a relay for 12 hours to support the annual Cancer Relay to raise fund for Cancer South Africa. They braved a very wet, cold night with high spirits to raise awareness of Soroptimist International and realise part of the club’s aim of playing it forward.
It was with great pride that President Diane Connell and Project Leader of SI PE’s Bursar Programme, Elna Maree, were in attendance at the graduation ceremony of Recardia, one of our bursars, who graduated with a BSc Biochemistry degree. This young woman has been an absolute pleasure to be involved with and is continuing studying for her Honours degree this year.
PE visited a small farm school with 164 children, on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth to speak to them on the necessity to save and take care of their water supplies. This was done in conjunction with the Water Institute of South Africa.
